New kid on the block
Meet Braddon: the perfect embodiment of cool.
Named after Sir Edward Braddon, a heavy weight Federalist, legislator and a participant in the writing of the Australian Constitution (no biggie), as far as suburbs go, Braddon packs a punch. Originally a light-industrial area, filled with automotive trades, the suburb now steps to its own creative beat.
We’ve just moved in, and we want to learn the two-step.
Braddon’s newest resident, Midnight Hotel champions creativity and authenticity. Designed to perfectly align with the growth and evolution of the city, Midnight Hotel is a gateway to the unconventional in a cool part of town. Like sure, it’s a hotel, but it’s in Braddon.
Riding the wave of a revolution, Braddon’s ever-changing precinct of small businesses, award-winning eateries, micro-breweries and hip boutique shops attract highly social, creatives seeking a unique experience.
Where Braddon offers a playground for the global citizen, Midnight Hotel offers the perfect base from which to explore it all – complete with a lush room, free mini-bar and darker than dark guest slippers. A melting pot of design, culture, food and fashion, Braddon exudes cool, and we are excited by association.
Creating an institution unto itself, the Braddon effect is real. Some of the world’s best coffee beans are roasted behind chic, brickwork coffee houses at Lonsdale St Roasters; cult-followed Korean streetwear store Koji Collection offers an unparalleled K-fashion fabric fix; 21 years young, Canberra creative Brian Tunks’ Bison pottery looks and feels good enough to eat – there’s a design movement in the air, and it starts in these streets.
Though, like any new kid to town, we’re trying to play it cool.
We’re settling in and checking out our surrounds like a friendly neighbour. While we finish setting up shop, we are basking in the fresh newness that sings with possibility. With a bar, restaurant and 199 accommodation rooms, Midnight Hotel is the new kid on the block and can’t wait to add more flavour to this infectiously cool little scene.
